Quit Managing and Start Coaching

The successful organization is not the one that has no problems; rather it is the one with many solutions. Quit Managing and Start Coaching by Tim Hagen brings a fresh new voice to the world of business solutions coaching and performance improvement. More than rehashing familiar, old coaching concepts and processes, author Hagen presents an actionable and scalable coaching methodology and system, Progress Coaching, which will elevate your organization’s performance and liberate your employees’ full potential. The methodology is called Progress Coaching for a simple reason: you coach people to progress. Armed with specific tools and techniques like Demo Me, Absurd Exaggeration, and 3rd Party, you can move from merely managing your organization’s problems to empowering your employees (and yourself) with unlimited choices that break through business as usual. Quit Managing and Start Coaching can truly be your source for discovering, implementing, and benefiting from Progress Coaching.

5Must read for anyone who has people reporting to them  Feb 25, 2012
By SteveInWI
There is a time to manage, but also a time to coach. Coaching employees for performance is not common and certainly not taught when I was in college. Yes, we are accountable for outcomes and numbers--but the numbers don't just happen by saying, "Get your numbers up." If it could only be that easy.

Tim Hagen's book walks you through why coaching is important, why coaching will give you as a manager a performance edge that 80% of most companies don't use, and HOW to create a plan. Coaching is only for those who wish to invest time to develop employees for results. So be prepared to do some work, but the results are amazing.

I too would like an eReader for iPod or Kindle!

Hi Tim. I would not hesitate to buy this book as a CD/download for Ipod. Any chance of that happening? I know that format would be popular with our managers versus a book. Just a thought to share.

My rating is for the title/subject matter that caught my interest since I had to rate it to get this message out. I will comment later after I read it.

Thank you.
