Real World 101: Student Guide

Real World 101: Student Guide uses visual imagery, some humor, and irony to illustrate the close relationship between the educational content and learning environments in schools and the personal interests of students. Topic content begins with revealing the misconceptions of mathematics, social studies, science, and the arts and clarifying their applications to students using tangible student experiences. The discussion proceeds in providing students examples that show the advantages of learning and how it will allow students to make effective choices and have personal control in pursuing their own dreams, a desire many young adults want so badly today. Content themes in choice, self confidence, and leadership both inside and outside the classroom are shared with students reading this book. This book is intended to be a short, fun read for students in the junior high and high school levels (grades 8-12). Students will feel as though they are having more of a conversation than a lecture.
