Real World 101: Student Guide

Real World 101: Student Guide uses visual imagery, some humor, and irony to illustrate the close relationship between the educational content and learning environments in schools and the personal interests of students. Topic content begins with revealing the misconceptions of mathematics, social studies, science, and the arts and clarifying their applications to students using tangible student experiences. The discussion proceeds in providing students examples that show the advantages of learning and how it will allow students to make effective choices and have personal control in pursuing their own dreams, a desire many young adults want so badly today. Content themes in choice, self confidence, and leadership both inside and outside the classroom are shared with students reading this book. This book is intended to be a short, fun read for students in the junior high and high school levels (grades 8-12). Students will feel as though they are having more of a conversation than a lecture.

5Real World/ student guide for sucess  Feb 09, 2009
By Michelle Trotter
The Real World 101: Book is informative in all phases of academics. It is enlighten to know this author has a deep concern for students excelling, in school. He gives a breakdown in all subjects, particularly, algebra. This was a difficult subject for me, the way he explained algebra its not complex, I can tackle this problem with confidence.
I'm a parent, I recommend this book for my children, students, homework clubs and after school programs. This book is a very valuable tool for schools.

5Helpful  Jul 31, 2008
By JLC "Princess Mariposa"
I was looking for a good motivational book that would be a quick read for my son who is going to the ninth grade. I read the book before giving it to my son. I found it inspiring and really enjoyed the letter to parents because it got me involved in what he wanted to tell my son about the Real World. I wanted to get my son a book that would keep him focused on the importance of his studies during the summer and this book did it. He really enjoyed the book and he told me he will read it again before school starts. I will be recommending this book to my son's school.

5Good job. An asset to higher education  Jul 15, 2008

This will be a true asset in educating our youth. Down to earth views that advance the way our youth view their education and how to advance into higher ed. Looking forward to your future writings.

5Great resource for teens  Aug 12, 2010
By Oneka D. Wilson
This is written as a good "down to earth" chat with teens. Why should you value the education that you get? Well....read this book! He really breaks it down. There's a reason teachers want you to succeed in school because they want to see their students do well. Its not just about learning the material but HOW to use the lessons in real life. I've used this book to work with students hesitant to embrace reading. We read a little at a time and discussed each theme. Great resource for parents.

5Great tool!  Aug 07, 2008
By Venny Reynolds
This is book is an awesome tool. It's not only for young students, but parents and teachers can use this as an aid to getting important messages to today's youth. Its concise, and gives great examples bridging an educational curriculum with every day life events.
