Reflections in the Water Trough: For the Cowboy in all of us

Writing is all about creating images in words that you can touch and feel. How many people have the opportunity to swing a catch rope, settle the rope over steer’s horns and pull the rope tight, smelling the heat generated from the tail of the rope racing through and burning the rawhide honda. In Catch Rope, I tried to capture and evoke those senses and take you there. My hope is that when you read each poem, you will touch and feel these things western.

5Reflections in the Water Trough  Nov 24, 2009
By Ann Rodgers

I loved it, especially since I write poetry and enjoy reading anything having to do with horses, or the country way of life. I liked "Easy Money" and "The Man", as they meant something personal to me. The book is a quick read, but you'll want to reread it from time to time.

4Great. Almost like Japanese Haiku  Nov 21, 2009
By Carol Lynn Mathews
I really enjoyed this little book. It was very similiar to Japanese Haiku verse. Too bad there weren't more poems. Hope he writes another book.

4I wanted there to be more.  Nov 21, 2009
By Elaine L. Moe "Poppy"
The adventure was over too soon. It did evoke the feelings of being there, Loved the poems. A good idea as a Christmas gift. Poppy
