Reflections on San Francisco Bay: A Kayaker's Tall Tales (Volume 3)

For a group of San Francisco Bay Area residents, Thursday nights are reserved for kayaking on the bay. Islands, bights, caves, and more . . . no corner of the bay and its history are left unexplored. While the tales in this volume chronicle only the paddles in 2010, they are part of a longer time flow, starting in 2000. Better than any travel guide on San Francisco Bay, these volumes capture the flavor of one of the world's most renown bodies of water.

5Good read  Aug 18, 2011

This is the third year of Thursday night short stories that John published - I recommend them all. Those, like me and my family, who subscribe on-line get to enjoy the weekly adventures of a diverse group of novice, semi-pro and "professional" kayakers through his keyboard. Always light reading that puts the reader in the moment - what may have started as a hobby has become a weekly journey that we look forward to. With the paperback or Kindle verisons, over a decade of these moments can be relived as you choose.

The third in a series. Always interesting to read. I have been following the online blog version for quite a while. The book packages it all together nicely. Whatever life throws at you and wherever you may be you can count on John paddling at night on the Bay on Thursday Night keeping it real. Short snippets that can be read whenever you need to retreat to a better place.
