This is a Worthy Effort in a Much Needed Area Jun 09, 2010
By S. Geske I am grateful for anything that helps highlight the power and benefits of Reiki and will not criticize any book that is halfway ballanced. This book gets off to a good start. I feel the authors still have some work to do, however. I typed in a page entitled, "How can we plug into Reiki energy?" I did a Flesch-Kincaid Reading score on it. (I deleted the references to "Reiki" so as to not unfairly skew the results.) I got a 14+ (College level) grade reading score on it. (The Grade Score on this review is 6th grade level.)
Parents will need to read this to their children rather than the children themselves and be prepared to explain a lot of "big" words to them.
The Reiki method is presented simply. The language used to do it is not as simple as it could be.
Still, this is a worthy effort in a much needed area. Thank you to the authors for breaking into this age group and making something available.

What a wonderful book, i have read this book to my kids who are 5 and 3. my 5 year old, loves it! Great art work, through out the whole book! Just loved it, what a great book for kids, and a better understanding for their ages. Jeanne is a inspiritional woman, and has put a lot of time, heart and soul into this book, and it shows thru out the whole book. If you buy this book you won't be sorry, and it wont' be a waste of your money! Reiki is a beautiful wonderful thing to give and receive~

The title says it all Jul 15, 2009
By J. Harper Jeanne Sands describes Reiki with a pure simplicity that can be understood by anyone of any age. Being a Reiki II practitioner with a lineage as the fifth 'generation' from Dr. Mikao Usui, I can say this book portrays Reiki with extreme accuracy.
It's nice to see the Reiki symbols are not shown in the book since they cannot be used effectively without the attunements and are considered sacred in the traditional teachings.
The artwork is positive and uplifting and captures your attention without taking you away from the informative text, and the cheerful colors will have young ones interested to the last page. Reiki, Pure & Simple is a delightful explanation of the history of Reiki, what it is and how this healing modality is used, making this book an excellent teaching/ refresher tool for all - from the curious to the experienced Reiki student regardless of lineage.
Kudos to Jeanne Sands for a job well done!

A delightful find Jun 09, 2009

I am a Reiki Master and find this book delightful. I love the beautiful simplicity with which this is written. It is amazingly helpful to young and old who find it difficult to explain Reiki Energy! An added bonus is the illustrations, helpful for those who learn by seeing, as well as very young children. Love this book and recommend it to all Reiki Masters and families who practice Reiki.

Reiki finally explained in pure and simple manner for all ages Jun 09, 2009
By Jeanne M. Sands

As a Reiki master, I find this book to be invaluable to convey
to my younger students how simple Reiki is to use and how
beautiful and special it is. Also, plan to use for those having
difficulty concentrating and with learning challenges as it
addresses the questions and answers in such a simple and direct
manner. The illustrations are delightful and happy.
