Running For The Bench: A Brief Political Comedy

Norman Spiczek, politically correct? Not even close. When Norm, a Dallas divorce attorney, decides to run for election as a judge against the driven, rigid Hildegarde Pierce (a distant relative of President Franklin Pierce, of course), he receives conflicting advice: be yourself, be nice, say what you mean, but don't say that. So which one is it? As Norm's golf partner and campaign manager says, Norm is a babe in the woods of American politics, even as it exists in a Dallas County judicial election. Politics is anything but usual when Norm is on the ticket.

5Running for the Bench  Dec 13, 2006

Charles Geilich has done it again with his new novel, Running for the Bench. Mr. Geilich's writing style is witty, articulate and intelligent. He has managed to make his protagonist, Norman Spiczek, likeable, in spite of the fact that he is a lawyer. The story flows effortlessly as it draws you into the professional and personal life of Mr. Spiczek. You will find yourself championing his cause from the very beginning. I couldn't put the book down until I had finished reading it. It truly captivated me. I loved this book and would highly recommend it!
