Safari's Dream

Safari's Dream is the second book as a companion to Safari's Song. The action takes place in a Louisiana bayou and on a Monarch Butterfly migration route along the east coast. Its themes of self-belief, environmental health and a love story are told with innocent charm. The main character is a moth who believes she is as good as any monarch butterfly and sets out in disguise to prove it. If she were human, she would be a girl of age 14 to 17 years. She leaves behind her best friend, and communes with him through the moon, in an ancient method, and by email, as she tackles the difficulties of migration, and he remedies a problem in the bayou at home.

5Good, fun Family reading  Apr 07, 2009
By Grumpelstiltskin "Old Grouch"
This is Cathy's second Novel, a continuing story. This book is as good a read for an adult as it is for a child. The story is sweet and skillfully executed. Catherines' sense of humor, depth of knowledge about nature, musical talents, and her obvious intelligence all come together in this clever tale. The story is about animal life in the bayou and a journey some of them must make. The interaction of these animals and their parallel relevence to our lives is in league with some of the classics which use the reality and the fantasy of animals to tell a story. A terrible thing happens in the swamp and the animals take charge to solve the crime and make things right. These creatures are lovable and memorable. The music CD, Safari's Songs enhance the story and you will soon be humming the tunes. Oh yeah, I enjoy the story as much as my grandaughter does, when I read it to her. The price seemed high until I saw all the photograhs and graphic artwork which is just terrific and worth it.
