Saga of a Mountain Meadow: A History of Bucks Ranch and Bucks Lake

Bucks Lake is located in Plumas County in northeastern California. This 100-page book describes the history of the Native Americans, gold miners, hotel operators, transportation and transformation of the ranch and meadow into a lake now utilized for hydroelectricity and recreation. Over 200 photographs with accompanying captions tell the story of this popular but little-known jewel of the northern Sierra Nevada.
