Saving Public Service Careers From Attack: A Guide to the Effective Use of and Winning Strategies for Administrative Law Processes to Defeat Adverse Employment Actions

Saving Public Service Careers From Attack is a practical guide offering a wealth of winning strategies and methods that can be used by federal, state, or local government employees whose careers face an attack by way of adverse employment actions--such as dismissals, demotions, suspensions, or poor performance evaluations--and by the attorneys who represent the employees in administrative law cases over such adverse actions. The book serves as a unique, invaluable, and lasting reference. The author, Mark Baron, shares his legal expertise as he smartly steps the reader through the various phases of an administrative law case over an adverse employment action. With its companion volume, Saving Public Service Careers From Attack: Cases, which consists of true case stories from the author's files showing the effectiveness of Baron's strategies, a full course is provided on how to successfully defend the careers of civil public service employees against unjust adverse employment actions.

5Career Saver!  Jan 27, 2011

I am a dedicated Public Service Employee. Unfortunately, I found myself in a situation where my employer was taking an unjust, adverse employment action against me. I never imagined that I would ever find myself in this position. I purchased this book and began reading. This book is an easy to understand, comprehensive, guide on saving your career. Fortunately, in my search to gain information, I found that the author practices law in the area in which I live. I retained Mr. Baron to represent me at my hearing. Based on my personal experience, the information presented in the book by Mr. Baron was right on target, from the very beginning preparations to the end of the hearing. He really practices what he preaches. I am happy to report the final verdict was in my favor. We won and my career is back on track! I highly recommend this book to any Public Service Employee facing a similar situation.
