A cornucopia of truth juxtaposed with GREAT humor Nov 10, 2009
By Ray Duarte Sally's story speaks for itself. It is a cornucopia of truth fictionalized with GREAT humor. She is spiritually powerful with a wonderful sense of humor.
As a nurse I have always experienced that it is always the patients who teach us courage in spite of the fear, the pain, and the unknowns.
I find Sally's curious adventure of "Scrambled Leggs" as an excellent read for all who may suffer debilitating conditions, and especially for those of us who care for them.
What is unique is Sally's ability to tell her story with intelligent and loving humor. I have my experiences as a clinical instructor along with the memory of 38 years in a critical care specialty that clearly testify to one indisputable fact - All will gain from reading Sally's true story, but in particular health care professionals, and especially, nursing students stand to gain tremendous insights from Sally's true story of "Scrambled Leggs"

Humor Heals! Mar 21, 2010
By Carra Riley Scrambled Leggs is a delightful read with wonderful lessons. Sally Franz shows us the way to rise above the physical picture and look for good through humor. She describes misdiagnosis and many fiascoes she had to endure with her horrendous ski accident experience. She has us laughing through the hallways. This book creates great giggle power and makes you laugh out loud. Sally shares how the "real you" is never touched by anything on the material level. She was paralyzed at a ski resort on a Holiday week-end and now walks, proving that even the most difficult situation can be overcome with the right consciousness. Her gift to the reader is something to be cherished.
After reading this book you will feel like you have been friends with Sally for years! I can say with authority "read it" you will be glad you did.

Bring on the hospital humor! Feb 25, 2010

I am the sort of person who avoids books about sick people. I mean, why go there? Life is hard enough without introducing someone else's drama into it. But from the minute I cracked this book open I knew it would be different. Throughout her crazy ordeal, Sally manages to stay amazingly upbeat, combining heartbreak with a hilarity you just don't expect. The author is at once witty and wise, and somehow never loses her sense of humor. I hope I never get what she had (or anything else scary for that matter), but if I do I hope I can get through it with this kind of grace.
Side note: My husband, who doesn't read much, picked up this book (to see what I was laughing hysterically about the previous nights, no doubt) and was rolling. If Sally can get him to read, she's a true miracle worker.

Compassion In The Face Of Pain Feb 24, 2010
By Richard Andrews I have known Ms. Franz for over a year and had been looking forward to reading her very funny book. Now that I have finished it, I have so much more respect for her personal journey and all of the pain she overcame, without losing her sense of humor. All who read this book will be inspired by the gutsy way she faced this potentially life-threatening debilitation and managed to observe and humorously comment about the system and characters there to help her. She is an inspiration to me and will be to you too!

Sally's humor makes me laugh out loud! As a cancer patient I find her advice appropriate too. Remember, laughter is good for you.
I prescribe a large dose of Sally Franz.
