This book is a book that bears a message for all ages not just children. while the book is designed to teach children, the story will touch all who read it. I actually know the people involved and sat and read the book 3 times in a space of a visit.. the cat tales or fact section at the end was very informative.. This book is well worth the purchase. not just because it is an excellent story but it helps out the community. No-kill shelters such as Kats and Kittens are excellent community resources and deserve support. I did not know chance but i have known many Cats similar to him. I definitely am planning on getting my own copy of this book. what is nice about the book is how it talks from the perspective of chance. I have had quite a few cats in my lifetime and all were either rescue cats (purchased from a source that supported a local shelter or were rescues of my own.) the message is simple yet the way it is presented is not in your face like some try to do. overall this book is well worth the modest cost and supports a good cause

I got this book for my grandchildren. Really nice coming from the cat instead of a person, sort of helps children relate and know how the cat was feeling and thinking. Had a nice few pages in the back with things I didn't even know about cats called Cat Tales and Facts. Had no idea a cat could have a litter of kittens at only 4 months of age!! Wow-makes you realise why you need to spay and neuter. The story was not scarey-the cat found a happy home in the end due to a cat rescue so it not only showed what a cat rescue dones but also told how you could help your area shelter. Very nice, my granddaughter is selling lemonaide to help our local shelter so it taught her to think of others-even if they are not humane- and how to be responsible. Great book. Buy it, you'll be glad you did!

It doesn't matter your age, everyone will enjoy this tale about and told by an abandoned cat. It shows what happens before and after being rescued by a shelter and has a happy ending with the cat getting what he wants most-Love and a Lap.The pictures are delightful and fun to look at with so much color and expression.I read that this is a true story so that even makes it better. I loved the Cat Facts and Tales in the back-I thought I knew a lot about cats but I sure learned some new stuff here! I love that the author/illustrator Tyler Hollis is donating all her profits to animal shelters. More people should do this. I would buy it if only for that reason but myself and my grandchildren absolutely adored this book. Buy it-you'll love it!

I purchased this book for me and donated it to my favorite person at Pets Population association... It was just for them as my gift for all the good work they do with animals needing second chances.
Tyler is a absolute wonderful writer and as a illustrator she really over did her Best when she created this story. Children will love the story and understand the importance of patience and kindness toward all living creatures.
This is a five star for anyone looking for a wonderful Childrens gift...
