Five Stars for "Short Sales and Loan Modifications!" Dec 30, 2009 Ken's expert and up-to-date (2009) account of short sales is generous, insightful, and real-world. This is the kind of information you'd usually have to pay $100s to get your hands on. Ken thoughtfully weaves the fundamentals with some pretty advanced information making the whole easy to digest and apply in your business. Whether you're just getting started in short sales or an old pro this is a great read and will help you get more deals done!
Great Short Sale Resource Oct 23, 2009 This is a great short sale reference. I also took advantage and utilize the author's forms as well. It allowed me to create a reliable system that saves me time and effort when working short sales. Why reinvent the wheel? As another reviewer pointed out "take a class" I too recommend that, but I suggest taking it one step farther. Get a designation and then couple that knowledge with this concept and forms and you'll really have a system that can produce results.
Excellent source of practical information Sep 03, 2009 I own this book because it's full of information I needed to learn about short sales. A lot of other real estate books talk about all sorts of great things you can do, but don't show you how to do them. Not so with this book. It's very practical, has lots of good lessons in it, and many of the points are illustrated by stories from the author's own experience.
The partner book to this one, Short Sale Business Manual, is an invaluable resource. I definitely recommend it, though currently the only way to get it is to go to the author's website at [...]. It's a self-published collection of sample contracts, forms, and guides - all the important (and sometimes hard-to-find) stuff you need to effectively negotiate deals and make your business work.
Short sale mediator Aug 29, 2009 As a mediator, I see a large market for my services in helping people complete short sales. I found the book, and in particular chapter 10, The Seven Golden Keys to Negotiation, very valuable. After reading the book, I purchased the Short Sale Business Manual. The examples in the manual really solidified the concepts in this book.
Sales Pitch for the Short Sale Business Manuel Aug 17, 2009 This book has some interesting and useful information to organize your short sale listings. However every page references multiple times, the very expensive "Short Sale Business Manuel". It is more of a teaser to get you to buy that. The only place I could find it was on Kenneth R. Lawson's website. If you are new to Short Sales, I would not recommend this book unless you want to fork out a lot of money for the Manuel which contains the forms and pertinent information to executing an actual short sale. Take a certification class through your local association.
