Should I take the shot? Practical and Ethical Considerations for shooting a Bigfoot

The legendary Bigfoot is believed to have coexisted with humans through the centuries. This large man-like ape has been reported to stand seven to nine feet tall and weigh between three hundred and nine hundred pounds. The most commonly recognized signature of this creature's movements have been large three-, four-, and five-toed footprints averaging sixteen inches lond and seven inches wide. Although this massive creature has been spotted on several occasions, no physical specimen has ever surfaced to confirm the reality of this elusive creature. In an attempt to confirm the creature's existence and to prevent the extinction of this unique species, some people have suggested killing a single specimen for examination. On the other hand, others recommend leaving the creature to live in peace and discourage any human hostility toward it. This work attempts to take a brief look at the advantages and disadvantages of each side of the debate and present them from an unbiased viewpoint.
