Powerful Book Sep 19, 2005
By Ken Reading the interviews and experiences of the authors, I recognized stages of grief I went through during my father's 20-year struggle with Parkinson's Disease and also the early grief I experienced during a recent divorce. My mother is aging and this book shows me where I am in the process of grief and acceptance. I highly recommend it. Give it to anyone whose parents are aging, who have a loved one with chronic illness or are going through a divorce. It will be helpful to them.

This book helped keep me sane Oct 25, 2009
By K. L. Hanson
"Peace Monger"
My Dad's Alzheimer's has been devasating for both me and my mom. We both have a copy and, speaking for myself, it has kept me sane. I've watched Dad disintegrate into a near vegetative state and there have been times when I was sure that I was going to cry myself to death. I have a couple of her other books, but this is the one that I open when I just know I can't take any more. It helps me remember that I'm not alone and that pain and grief are survivable. Thank you, Harriet, for keeping me going.
