By Jude Urbanski Elisabeth Hewitt Bantz Book Surge Publishers, 2003 ISBN: 1-59457-120-1 Fiction, psychological thriller
Kinzey White suffers a parent's worst nightmare. Her four-year-old daughter has disappeared. Kinzey is certain Jim, her explosive, estranged husband, has achieved his threat, but a sound alibi creates chaos. This action-packed thriller keeps you turning pages.
The Christianson clan, with aloof Ben playing a major role, supports Kinzey with love and prayer, but even so, she's frantic with fear for daughter Jamie. Who could have taken her?
Kinzey is encouraged by the Christiansons and Aunt Ruth to rest in God's sovereign peace and does surrender her heart to God amidst intense and prolonged FBI efforts to find Jamie.
Jamie, while unharmed, doesn't quite know what to make of her strange new `caretakers.' She remains confident she'll see her mother again. Some of her kidnappers do not appreciate God's hand twisting their meticulous plans. Jim White had only wanted to mess with his wife's mind, not have his whole world crumbling. What could he do?
While all loose ends seem to tie up nicely, this final book in the series is about more than a kidnapping. The characters tell us that it's about God's highest and best for His children--at all times and in all things.
If you haven't already, this book will make you want to pick up the first book of the series.

Kinzey White suffers alone, even though she is surrounded by the love and prayers of the whole Christianson clan, the ones who had first inspired her to become a novelist. Bereft with grief, Kinzey tries to cope with the gnawing emptiness of not knowing where her daughter Jamie is, or who has taken her. Her estranged husband had tried twice before. The painful memory of his last explosive rampage brings deep, heaving sobs. And falling on her knees, she cries out to God.
Jim White and his accomplice have more to deal with than an opinionated four-year-old; nothing is going right for them. The van overheats, the hidout proves less than accommodating, then the Amber Alert sends them deeper into hiding. But that's the least of their worries because a higher force is working against them, the same heavenly force that's protecting the little girl. The bad guys don't have a chance, and Jamie has the time of her life with her new "guardian" friends as she awaits her rescue.
There is more going on behind the scenes than the kidnaping of one small child. This final book in the Secrets of the Heart generational saga is action-packed, leaving you hungry for more from this author.
Although each book has a unique spin--a turn-of-the-century historical romance, a sixties kind of love story, a nineties mixed-up family gone right, and a modern psychological thriller--I loved the "love and forgiveness through Christ Jesus" theme throughout. Anyone unclear about that will benefit from these books. Good to pass on.
