Sonny Schorr, Man or Myth? Feb 16, 2009
By Bobbie This book kept me totally engrossed for a long time. I even wanted to slow it down so I could keep reading it and not finish too soon.
It inspired me to start a quest of my own to find the answers to the human condition. Interspersed with love, sex and romance, this book details the journey of two incredible woman to find the man who can unlock their potential.
Mysterious, hot and a total page turner.
Sonny Schorr, Man or Myth? Jan 25, 2009
By Southpaw Sonny Schorr: Man or Myth, by Leslie Wisner, is so much more than the typical love story. It is a beautifully written passionate romance narrative that spans decades. The author creates a spectacular tapestry of the lives of its main characters, and the experiences of the many women who were involved with one man, the mysterious Sonny Schorr.
Early on I became immersed in the book when the author's Aunt Carrie resumes her quest to find Sonny, her girlhood lover, in her attempt to have answered the many questions brought about by their wonderful yet troubling teenage relationship. Summoning her niece to join her in her search, the story becomes even more interesting, when, at the same time as Leslie does, we learn that Sonny is Leslie's biological father.
The descriptions of the places, characters, and their experiences create a colorful visual picture; it is an exotic escape!
The book is laced with intriguing ideas about the female's purpose and raises many unanswered questions about their true potential. It is sure to raise some eyebrows!
I wanted to devour this book, but the writing is rich, so I allowed myself to savor every page. As each chapter flowed into the next, I too grew anxious for them to find him.
It is an absolute page-turner, interspersed with hot passionate lovemaking, and it has its very tender and sensuous moments. The women explain that though they share the same extraordinary man their experiences are always different, personal, and extremely fulfilling.
I found that the most fascinating moments are in the relationship between Sonny and Allyson. I am still in awe as I read the lines that describe their experiences which led to a love so pure, I call it unconditional and absolute.
A book I would recommend to any woman who still believes anything is possible.
Somebody please bring it to the silver screen.
Sonny Schorr, Man or Myth? Jan 15, 2009
By book worm As I neared the end of Sonny Schorr: Man or Myth the depth of it's main characters interwoven with their passionate sexual experiences caused me to have a separation axiety attack over losing the people I came to love during the book's 700+ pages. This love story is as rich and beautiful as it is romantic and fanciful. The author chronicles the true experiences of some of the many women who were deeply touched by the title character, and in doing so she takes the reader way beyond commonplace occurrences.
As I read more about Sonny Schorr, I find myself anxious to begin my search for him, every bit as much as Carrie and Leslie did. As their quest revealed the incredible experiences of some incredible women, I found myself, more than once, wishing that I was one of them.
The sexual scenes are incredibly erotic and exquisitely detailed. (And yes, worthy of re-reads before going on with the story.)
For me one woman's journey stands out from the others, and I found myself reading her story over and over before I began my reread of the whole book. Allyson is as beautiful, tender, and exotic, as is the story of her life.
This book is a must read. It engages the emotions in ways very few books have ever done. Tears, love and compassion are intertwined within the true life stories, and there is a sense of connectedness throughout.
Warning, DO NOT read the ending before you've actually gotten there.
Sonny Schorr, how incredible that he exists! So there really is the possiblity of so much more. Wow.
Incredible Story Jan 12, 2009
By Pamela Move over all you romantic heros that women have swooned over in the past. None of you can compete for the sexual romanic fantasies of grown women after they discover the possibility of Sonny Schorr.
Sonny Schorr: Man or Myth is not a book for everyone. It is truly an adult love story, that begins it's path with a couple of teenagers, and continues with a spellbinding and sensuous journey. It is graphic in it's sexuality with all the rules of modern day morality being broken into shards of uselessness.. This true narrative generates hope in women who have long searched in vain for what they dreamed of in a man, in a relationship, and in what their life could become.
The book is lenghty, 701 pages, but it wasn't long enough for me, because I'm not sure if there will ever be a sequel and I want it to continue. I wish to remain, and be a part of the romantic world of Sonny, Carrie, Allyson and all the other women. After reading this real life account of those who lived it I must admit I am truly envious.
