Eager to receive Cindy's book Sep 01, 2009

I have seen the first copy and visited with Cindy at an event in my home town. I ask her if I could look at it. I was soon ask what I was reading. It is a grabber. I wanted to keep reading. (You shouldn't do that at a party!) It makes sense and is an easy read. I want to give it to all my children. She is an excellent writer and I can hardly wait to get my own copy.

As a national radio talk show host, I understand how crucial clear communication is - to me and to the guests I interview. Cynthia Leeds Friedlander's book "Speak Easy: The Communication Guide for Career and Life Success," is a great find! It takes the reader on a journey to clear, concise and coherent communication. All of us can continue to improve our communication, which is why Speak Easy is such an important book.
In reality, this book is a simple yet significant deluxe toolbox, a nuts and bolts primer on strengthening both business and personal communication. The author goes into great detail about repairing bad habits, restoring confidence, reestablishing relationships and finding improved ways to deal with difficult communication (and difficult people!). The book includes a collection of terrific techniques that you can begin to introduce immediately into your daily interactions with colleagues, family and friends.
One of the highlights of this creative collection of communication concepts, techniques and action plans is the presentation of real life scenarios, based on Ms. Friedlander's successful career as a communications coach and executive leadership consultant. She has consulted with top executives, helping them to improve their communication skills. Through this book, she can help you, as well, regardless of your job or position.
One of the most important parts of Speak Easy is the direction she offers in networking effectiveness. She takes away the negative stigma that often surrounds these business and social situations and creates a new and more relaxing way to experience them as "R & R" (Research and Relationships).
Cynthia shows the reader the value of recognizing and understanding negative assumptions and then focusing on affirmative possibilities. She even provides practical preparation for negotiations, whether professional or personal. (Looking for a new job or a new career? There are some great ideas here that will help you immensely!)
The Speak Easy Rules found at the end of each chapter are an excellent resource to refer back to frequently as a `communication refresher.' And the key word index in the back of the book provides easy access to key points.
Once you read this book, regardless of your station in life, it will surely become a permanent part of your business and personal collection. (It can also be a subtle gift for those people who you believe might benefit from better communication!)
Never have I seen so much on the topic of communication, presented so concisely, clearly and coherently, in a format that fosters the opportunity and commitment to change and create better communication patterns. Park your ego, open your mind, and discover this important book. Communication is the single-most important skill a person can develop, and we can all learn to do it better. "Speak Easy: The Communication Guide for Career and Life Success" is a superlative handbook. It has helped me significantly, and I know it will help you, as well.

There are all sorts of books and programs on communication but in "Speak Easy", Cindy Friedlander uniquely lays out both basic and nuanced communication skills in a clear, easy-to-understand (and implement) format. With a psychological dimension that makes it useful in personal interactions as well as professional settings, "Speak Easy" is the ultimate guide to high "EQ" in communication. Using the "Speak Easy" rules will help bosses, employees, co-workers, friends, parents - anyone who seeks to communicate effectively in their daily life.

Speak Easy is a stimulating and practical book. It is a useful resource for everyone considering a job search as well as for anyone to whom good communication is valuable. Speak Easy deals with lots of specific communication aspects that have been described and discussed in great lengths in many other publications. But Cynthia Friedlander has concisely broken down the essecnce of all these and presented them in a useful and memorable way as tools to be used. As a therapist, it is a book that I would highly recommend to my clients---those engaged in a career change as well as those who are considering their responsibility in successful interactions with others. The book is beautifully written with wisdom and wit. And as promised in the title, an easy book to enjoy, learn from and use. Kudos to Ms. Friedlander.
