Stop Growth Now!!

Arie Kamphorst is a Dutch agricultural scientist, who has worked in different parts of the world. During his professional activities and after his retirement he has been a keen observer of world affairs. He is convinced that further deterioration of the global environment can be prevented only if humanity stops the growth of the world economy and the world population. Kamphorst started to write down his thoughts from June to December 2008, during a period in which several global crises deepened or emerged, namely a climatic change, a deterioration of the natural environment, and shortages of energy, food, water, and minerals. The emergence of financial and economic crises in the last third of 2008, which led to a decrease in global production and consumption, temporarily overshadowed the shortages of basic commodities. His comments on these developments are presented in 25 chapters in part I of the book. In part II of the book, the author has added six postscripts to the contents of part I, written in July 2009. This part ends with proposals for a new world society based on morality.
