Almost the first thing this book says is that just reading it won't help you. That's true. But following the practices it outlines will. Actually I'd recommend reading it more than once. Read it once straight through, just to get an idea of what's there, and then go through it again, cherry picking the practices that appeal to you.
What this book is about is Spiritual Integrity, which I would describe as clearing accrued barnacles off your soul to get to who you really are.
Who are you?
Well, you are not the bulb.
You are not even the light.
You are the electricity.
Actually,of course, you are everything in that metaphor. But if you clear away all those barnacles what you will be left with is a connection to spirit that will let you live an authentic life. And that is the only kind of life worth living. There are a lot of ways to do that, but this book leads to a very good clear path. Go for it!
