Great Book To Recommend Jan 08, 2010
By Barbara G. Klein I like Dr. Gavazzi's sense of humor to help parent teens of the new decade. He presents simple explanations for successful family communication, rules, and internal/external boundaries in relation to teens along with looking at the current life stages of family members. His book reflects the latest research for creating strong families and helping teens become academically successful. It's very concise and easy to understand along with step-by-step lessons and worksheets. This book is excellent for the motivated parent that wants to help their teen. As a school guidance counselor working with teens, I will keep a copy on my resource shelf to recommend to parents.

When you are trying harder as a parent of teens & not seeing results Jan 05, 2010
By Doramarie Sterling
"Grandmother rearing teens"
This is an excellent guide for parents with teens in their families. Different from most books, many teachers as well as some counselors that focus on the child's problems that seem impossible to solve, this guidebook provides practical suggestions for the whole family to work together on solutions and easily-to-understand reasons why teen problems occur. My kids, husband and I liked the step-by-step exercises that helped us help ourselves work better as a family in comfortable, easy and successful ways. I would highly recommend this book!

Must Read Dec 10, 2010
By Elizabeth A. Bridges If you are a parent of teenagers you must read this book. If you are a parent of soon to be teenagers, you must read this book. If you have ever parented a teenager, you must read this book.
Dr. Gavazzi has given parents a tool to make it through the tumultuous teenage years. At a time when parents often feel the most frustrated and wonder about their skills as parents, he helps readers find value in their own family system that will enable them to 'grow' strong families and strong teens. Dr. Gavazzi's gentle spirit and subtle wit make the book an engaging read.
