Survived to Love: "A journey to find acceptance and validation; resulted in the discovery of love."

This story takes place in a time when surviving was all that was expected of one. The main character had to move from being the head of his mother's household to trying to support his own family in very hard times. Having to support a fast growing family he struggled within himself to survive. Being a sharecropper was the only way he knew to support and raise a large family. This decision systematically caused his relationship with his family to take a downward spiral into chaos and destruction. Through a process of time and a lot of devastating mistakes the abuse subsided, as this man slowly and determinedly began the process of trying to win back the family that he had all but lost. The wall of fear and frustration that was the family's protection from him had to be dismantled one brick at a time by trust. In the end a deeper and more meaningful relationship was birthed from the latter.

5Heart gripping, soul stirring memoir !  Jun 13, 2008
By Florece Mccoy "Book Connoisseur"
This book really got to me. The story line remained interesting from the very first sentence to the very end. It was hard for me to put this book down, after I began to read it. I could actually visualize each event as they took place. Throughout the book,I found myself becoming some of the characters and I was able to experience some of their raw and overwhelming emotions as they dealt with situations that should have crushed them for life. Being an avid reader, I can truly say that this book can well become a best seller if enough people would venture out and read it. I am looking forward to reading the sequels! Two thumbs Up !

Survived to Love is the perfect topic for this story. As I read with interest, I was moved to reminisce fondly of my own growing up. The story is compelling and extremely well-written. It is a must read!

By Sadie L. Littlejohn "book Lover"
I just finished reading this "captivating" book for the second time, and I find it to be exceptional reading;very insightful and entertaining.I would advise anyone that has gone through any type of family trauma during their childhood to read this book. This book is also laced with some very beautiful and well-versed poetry. A very thought provoking novel

Wow! I was drawn to every word of the book. I felt as if I was there being a witness to everything that was happening. Easily felt the emotions of the author. I applaud her for the courage it took to write and share her story. Beautiful poetry that is so heartfelt. Looking forward to future books.

What an awesome book! This book brings awareness to everyday life. As I was reading, it drew me into being one of the characters and by that time I could not separate myself from this book. I am glad to have read a book that I can relate to and compare it to my own surrounding.
