THE LBO

In Salvatore J. Bommarito’s gritty novel The LBO, we are transported into the rarely seen, complex, and sometimes ugly world of corporate America. The story begins just as a high stakes leveraged buyout, predicated on an unsigned government contract, begins to unravel shortly after it closes. Anxiety results from the aggression, greed, and ambition of the players turning the transaction into an unmitigated disaster. The plot is further complicated by a corrupt United States Senator, unhappy investors, an ex-con with revenge in his heart, and then a series of murders. The story is a stark reminder that the unstable economic platform on which this country’s economy sits is greatly influenced by many people vulnerable to greed and shameless abuse of power.
