The ABC's are just that... basic ABC's Feb 26, 2009 I respect the author's ability and knowledge, but I really thought this was a very basic book about prospecting. It's good information, but it's not very deep.
My suggestions for new agents are: Gary Keller's SHIFT, Loren Keim's Real Estate Prospecting and Dirk Zeller's Success as a Real Estate Agent For Dummies. You'll get a lot more information.

Some good information Nov 17, 2008 I agree with both the positive and negative reviews on this book. I purchased it and found it to be a very thin book with a lot of blank pages. However, I think it's a good step by step book for managing your time and setting up a prospecting system. As for techniques to find business, I think it's somewhat lacking.
The best book I've seen on real estate prospecting is Real Estate Prospecting: The Ultimate Resource Guide(Loren Keim), which actually goes through a couple dozen prospecting targets and how to approach them. It even has sample letters, scripts and methods of contact.
The other really good prospecting book, particularly for online and for follow up was Real Estate Rainmaker: Guide to Online Marketing (Dan Gooder Richard) which outlines how to truly create a follow-up system. Both great books
Overall, I think the ABC's of Prospecting is a decent read and has some very good and valid points.

Specialty Books are Not Worth It! Jun 09, 2008 I bought an "out-of-print" business book for a discussion group. When I ordered it, I missed the fact it was a paperback, thinking the price was OK for a hardback. Whatever reasoning was used to determine the price, the book is a ripoff.
The prose is boring, repetitive, pedantic, and there are numerous grammatical and spelling mistakes throughout.
The subject is not given an in-depth treatment. Rather, it is an example of a writer - thinking he/she has professional expertise to sell - would do better to find a new career. No wonder the book is out-of-print!

The book is not much for the price Nov 17, 2007 This book hops on the fame of another recent and very popular real estate book which has a similar cover design and color; however, this one contains nothing new, and does not really deal with prospecting methods - only followup methods for the prospects you already have, or that company marketing is sending you. Small in size, it's hardly more than a pamphlet for an excessive price.

The answer to SO MANY questions! Oct 16, 2007 This book goes miles beyond your average leads generation training session. Best of all is that its not full of hype, "you can do it!" type rhetoric. The book lays out an easy to follow set of business and leads generation models that REALLY work. In the current R.E. market, agents MUST have some sort of edge, an advantage. This book provides the model, if you follow it, you get that edge. As a Broker with 42 active agents, I've made this book a mandatory must read.
