A remarkable amount of work must have gone into this novel and the result is excellent. Being from Washington DC myself, it was and added pleasure to encounter so many setting with which I was familiar. Highly recommend.
The Accurst Tower Feb 13, 2011
By Paul Minich Mr. Winslow entertains us with a riveting novel . I am a native Washingtonian and he catches the flavor and historical landmarks. He transports you into a time and space not easily forgotten. As a former Government Employee he understands the nuance of the Government. The novel is a deja vu of a different time and place when you could curl up with a good Mystery Novel the likes of Dashiel Hammet and Raymond Chandler.
So buy the book and go for a ride you will never forget.
Old Boy Network Dec 31, 2008
By Jack Guest Anyone forced to endure Old Boy thugs in the workplace should enjoy this book as I did. In it I saw my dream unfold: to puncture their rear ends with flying arrows. That's what happens to Reggie as he parachutes in the Alps over a castle. The arrows also puncture his scheme to knife a coworker. Suspense swings between true courtroom drama and true murder. Its twists and turns are never expected -- and hardly avoidable. The writing is concise, the action rapid. In places I almost wish it were slower. The Accurst Tower, imaginative as it is, proves an age-old curse: the Old Boy Network in high offialdom.
