This fast-paced biography begins with what can only be described by people other than the author as a disturbing memory of the author’s father. When his father suggests that he shoplift school clothes, the story will continue to take twists and turns, shot between distant memories and ones that are more recent, in an inspired flashback sequence that helps readers understand how Rutger got to a place where he needed to save himself. Though most roads are paved with good intentions, in his case, the past path foreshadowed the one big adventure that will have readers fully awestruck and oddly inspired.
