5Basilicata Manifesto  Jun 18, 2009
This is an excellent book. It is filled with creative, humorous anecdotes and short stories. Tom Whelan is a brilliant, articulate author with a true flair for writing. I highly recommend this entertaining and thought provoking book.

4Entertaining!  Oct 11, 2008
The essays in this book were entertaining and fun to read. I would definitely read more!

5A genius in his own mind!!! (and on paper too)  Mar 31, 2008
This little book packs a wallop of entertainment. Tom Whelan's incisiveness and wit, as well as, his incredible knack for describing with perfection outrageous social phenomena that we all experience (but many of us are too polite to comment on), makes this a must read. These short essays on everything from baby names to colonics, may have you nodding your head agreement or outrage you completely, but this page turner will have you howling with laughter either way.

5Loved this!  Jan 16, 2008
Just when I thought Mr. Whelan couldn't top the success of The Dakapa Handbook, he delivers another great book. Hysterical glimpses of the ill-fated Giovanni Fanzini's experiences with everything from telemarketers to colon hydrotherapy. Funny and wonderful storytelling that keeps you wanting more! I didn't want this book to end and I can't wait to see what Mr. Whelan publishes next.
