Suspenceful and Intriguing Aug 04, 2009
By Jean M. Sullivan
"Jean S."
The Brown Recluse is a riveting novel. At first I was getting confused with all the characters, but then amazingly it all began to tie together and I couldn't put the book down. I could harldy wait to start the next chapter. I look forward to the sequel if there is one. I think there should be. I'd love to know what happens next. Let's make a movie of this one.

Grabs you by the throat! Feb 23, 2009
By Stephen Redfern A fast paced thriller enjoyed by both my wife and me. Do not start this book if you have something you need to do in the near future. Extremely fast paced and immediately engaging as in a Robert Ludlam novel. Very crisp, direct prose. Should be made into a movie immediately.

The Brown Recluse Feb 21, 2009
By Ron McMichael Coauthors Earl Stubbs and Dick Rothwell tell an intriguing tale of passion and intrigue that takes place on a worldwide stage ranging from Macau to Monte Carlo and into the deep piney woods of East Texas. The beautiful yet lethal Brown Recluse Jian-mei, much like the spider after which she is named, has been coerced into the service of Big Chang, the head of the Chinese underworld in Macau. The story tells of a conspiracy to sell nuclear warheads to the government of Iran in exchange for a tanker of Iranian oil, a deal brokered by Texas oilman Billy Ray Calhoun and his beautiful and sexy lifelong friend Cloud. The intrigue is heightened by the involvement of the Israeli Massad in a quest to prevent the delivery of the nuclear warheads to Iran. The tale unfolds in a series of first-person accounts by the primary characters in the story, giving the reader an up close and insightful perspective on the people and the events around which the fictional account is constructed.
The novel is certainly a worthwhile read if for no other reason than the unique and entertaining manner in which the story unfolds. It is absolutely a page-turner that rivets the reader's attention from start to stop.
Fast-paced thriller Aug 22, 2011
By whoapat I read this book twice. It is uniquely organized to enable the reader to follow each of the characters as their lives swirl in and around one another. The reader gets a global view, with not a clue as to how these diverse characters interrelate. The reader becomes entwined with the characters as their lives spiral toward one another.
Compelling story and believable characters. Good job for a first novel.
a good read Feb 20, 2009
By Rosalie T. Turner I'm someone who loves a spy story or mystery, & I enjoyed this one. The interesting characters take you on twists and turns that are fun to follow. At the end of the book, you are left with the satisfying feeling that this was a good read.
