They have 'second sight', the ability to see into what they call 'the strange' and the 'the weirding'. They can smell your fear and your lust. They own the ability to move with a preternatural speed and can shape shift into the form of a Kirran wolf. And last but not least, The Men of Varda are required to complete a sacred study with the Witches of Sindra, who tutor them in the art of love, sensuality and devotion. . .The Art of Sex. . .The 'Familiar ways'. They are taught the eleven levels of ecstasy, the bonding rituals that bind their life mates to them. Soon we discover that there are many in the universe that would pay a great price for their bedding skills, that is, if you can catch one. The Varda believe that the most honorable thing that a man can be is lifemate and father. And their most noble dedication is to be protector and warrior for their world. The men of Varda seem to be invincible until a new element arrives. A 'Physician' that is as old as time and brilliant has devised a way to undermine their 'skills'. It all begins with two of the Varda being drugged and implanted with a devise that thwarts their skills. Aidan, their brother, discovers that their betrayer is Jazadeem. However, Beddia is protected by a harmonics grid that does not allow what they consider 'deviant' behaviors and Jazadeems single act of treachery signaled to them that the protective grid is failing. Aidan knows that Jazadeem would never give up the circumstances or the location of where his brothers were being held prisoner, so he does the only thing he could think to do, he ripped her soul and her memories from her and placed them into a Seiqua crystal. He then began his journey to find a compatible life force to Jazadeem. . ..a 'like' Rate of Vibration. He finds Sasha on Earth, then, tricks her into coming to Beddia. She thinks she is going to inspect the site of her next job. As Beddia is a sister world to earth, for a few days she is blissfully unaware of exactly where she is, or of the dark Prince's even darker intentions for her. Once Aidan is finally able to transfer Jazadeem's soul and memories into Sasha, a small piece of memory comes forward. The Sulkar, once the rulers of Beddia and 'Eaters of Darkness' have found a way to make their return, and are walking upon and preparing for the take over of their now peaceful paradise world. This is a horrific revelation and an indicator that their safeguards have failed. But there is much more to this. Aidan is using a potion to keep Jazadeem subdued so that she cannot seize control of Sasha's body. Sasha accidentally overhears Aidan telling his brothers what he did, and she realizes that she is no longer on Earth. . .and that he that intends to destroy her once he gets the information that he needs. Needless to say, she runs away from him. Now there is no more potion and now Jazadeem steps forward. The story takes on twists and turns as he searches. He has to convince her that it was Jazadeem that he intended to destroy. Sasha has begun to believe that Jazadeem is innocent of the crime for which she has been accused. Sasha and Aidan are irresistibly drawn to each other and the quirky romance and sexy seductions begin. They join forces, and in their attempt to discover what has gone wrong, the conspiracy begins to reveal itself.
