The Cheerful Troublemaker

Funny, fast paced and uplifting! First in a series following the antics and spiritual awakening of a young woman, The Cheerful Troublemaker is touching, spiritually uplifting at times wildly funny. This girl's thirst for fun and laughter is not easily quenched until a glimpse into the tragedy of others places a heavy burden on her conscience. Only then does she begin to see the power of gratitude in action. The truth is that she has always known how to have fun. Now she needs to learn how to give thanks. Carrie Elizabeth is wild, carefree and always, always and eternally in trouble. The fifth daughter in a gaggle of girls, she's able to find fault with her overly demanding parents, her accomplished sisters and her headmaster - you name it. Sassy, often downright cheeky, she has it all figured out. That is, until a tragedy gets her to start thinking about what is most important in life and how much she has to be thankful for. >From start to finish, Carrie is a fascinating character who walks an >incredibly thin line between creating more mayhem and being a better >person

5Tears of sorrow, tears of joy...  Nov 24, 2007
By Grin Reaper
I just finished "The Cheerful Troublemaker" and WOW from page 1 I was on edge wanting to find out not just what trouble this girl would cause but the lessons she would learn from her "lectures". The wisdom her parents and grandparents show is just plain awesome, when I read of the things her grandad did for others it makes me want to try to be a better person. This book will have you in tears of sorrow on moment and tears of joy the next. I cannot wait for the second book to come out, and will be purchasing more of the first to give to my teen and pre-teen neices. The lessons of gratitude in this book need to be shared with this "ME" generation and I thank "The Cheerful Troublemaker" for bringing those lessons to life. :)

5Carrie, The Cheerful Troublemaker  Nov 16, 2007
By Vivian M. Duran
It's inspiring to read the adventures of courageous Carrie Elizabeth, the Cheerful Troublemaker! Carrie is an authentic voice of today's intelligent and witty teenager and she has a tender heart. This book is delightfully funny and at the same time reminds us how to be grateful for the good things in our lives.

Now I know what to buy for the teens (and their Moms) on my gift list. I'm anxious for the next book by Carrie Elizabeth.

5Carrie's #1 Fan  Nov 15, 2007
By Book Worm 0412 "Ad Astra Per Aspera"
From start to finish, Carrie captures the attention and your heart!
Uplifting, positive, and goofy are all words that would adequately describe the storyline and the characters.
Ideal coming-of-age story for young-teens who are looking for a relatable character with similar value system, as well as adults who are looking for a positive and entertaining story to lose themselves in.
We are anxiously anticipating next installment!

5Marvelous book  Nov 09, 2007

Carrie Elizabeth Walker truly is a cheerful trouble maker. This book was delightful enough that it was hard to put down. Loved reading it on the plane. I was at my destination and didn't want to get off so I could keep reading.
Yet is is also thought provoking in a gentle way. It truly captures the thinking of a teenager--not as a dummy but as a growing developing woman. Characters were delightful. I recommend this to young, old, male and female. I can't wait to read the next one. Hurry and write faster please!!!

5"Unconstitutionally" Funny  Nov 09, 2007
By Judy "Judy"
If genius can be described as a supreme capacity for getting its possessors into trouble of all kinds, then Carrie Elizabeth's genius is unparallelled. Carrie learns that trouble is a part of life, and if you don't share it, you don't give the person who loves you a chance to love you enough.

Steve Jobs must have been describing Carrie when he said. "Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do."

Carrie uses humor as the art of learning. Sometimes the laughter is the recognition of the ironies and absurdities in life. Sometimes, though, the humor in "The Cheerful Troublemaker" is just pure, unthinking delight. Readers who pick this book up as a "fun read" will find much more.
