excellent book Jun 19, 2008
By B. Rhein this is an excellent book to give to friends and family because it is short enough that they might actually read it, but it comprehensive, ie. packed with good info. For the patient, I also recommend this book but in addition, I recommend Conquer Chiari: A Patient's Guide To The Chiari Malformation, which is a much longer book and goes into the patient's perspective in more detail.

Lived with Chiari for 25 years. the book is great for the whole family. It is written so everyone can understand. Oct 20, 2008
By Deanne Morley For 25 years I did not know a lot about Chiari malformation other than my own experience. I had severe headaches for 11 years before being diagnosed and having surgery in 1995. My family just didn't understand. This book has answered many questions that I have had over the years. Way up north in Northern Ontario we do not have a Chiari specialist or Neruosurgeon. I had to go to southern Ontario. This book was very informative and I saw myself on so many pages, like it was me they were writing about. I no longer feel alone and I understand my condition much more. I also bought this book and another for my chiropractor and doctor. This is a must read book for anyone with ACM and thier families. Deanne Morley in Ontario.

Great book for Chiari patients and their families Apr 18, 2008
By Judi Paparozzi Chiari Malformation Type I is a diagnosis few will hear, and once we do hear it, we need to know as much about this as possible. This book is an excellent family guide through the medical issues and diagnosis with Chiari, and it helps the patient and the family navigate this relatively unknown medical issue.

Very simple to understand Apr 10, 2011
By dian88 I just received the book a couple of days back. It was really easy to read and simple to understand, despite the use of some jargons to explain the relevant anatomical parts of the brain. Would recommend this book to chiari patients, their friends and families, and even practitioners who are unsure of the condition. Well written.

Helpful Jul 06, 2010
By Carrie I found this book VERY helpful in getting a basic understanding of the Chiari malformation disorder. I'm glad I bought it. It's an easy and fast read within a few days me, my husband, my mom, and my mother-in-law all read it.
