The Choosing

From the first page, this action-packed science fiction adventure pulls you into a world of danger, intrigue, romance, and humor. Adison is the only daughter of Morrigan, immortal ruler of the world. But she is kept prisoner in her own home. Then she discovers the purpose for which she was born, and the fate which Morrigan plans for her. She makes her escape into a strange world, pursued by all the terrifying powers at her mother's command. Devin has grown up in exile. Determined to restore his family honor, he sets out to foment rebellion. But the world's ruler has powers beyond imagining. Soon Devin is trapped in Morrigan's web, unable to escape. The only person who can help him is Adison, if she can find the courage to face her own doom. Their lives and the fate of the world rest on Adison and Devin's ability to discover the secrets behind an immortal ruler and a strange moon. But that will require penetration of Morrigan's strongest fortress, and the world's oldest mystery.

5wonderfully surprised  Aug 02, 2006
By Kathy Freeman "hungrymother"
Right from the out set of this book I was caught. I couldn't but it down. I enjoyed many things about this book. The story line was intreging and kept me on my toes. I wanted to find out what was happening next. Even at the end I wanted it to go on. The characters were rich in personality and they became very real. The story line was woven carefully together and the details of the land and characters were so clear that I could feel what they felt and walk with them and saw what they saw. It was so exciting. I don't read science fiction a lot. I have read all of Orson Scott Cards books and I would compare this book to one of his books. It was that good to me. I would highly recommend this book.

A compelling, suspensful book that's hard to put down. I found myself reading faster just to see what happened next. There's something for everyone- action, adventure, science fiction, even romance, all perfectly blended into an amazing book.

5Excellent read, grabs your attention from the start.  Aug 10, 2006

I really enjoyed this book. It grabbed my attention at the beginning and held it throughout the book. I couldn't wait to read and find out what was going to happen next. The plot was very exciting. I became so involved in the story, the characters, seemed so real, I was sad to see it end. I would recommend this book to anyone.
