5Elbridge the Colonial Squirrel  Jun 24, 2008
By Carleton A. Mentzer
I enjoyed this book very much and was very excited by the interest it created in the children I was reading to. Elbridge and his friends caused a group of children that are usually plugged into one form of entertainment or the other to ask questions regarding American history. We also discussed the role of personal resposibility for our own freedoms and the freedoms of others. To have all of this coupled with vibrant, stimulating artwork was a pleasurable surprise. In a world where most of the entertainment is garnered through a small screen it was wonderful to see an interest in the written word. Thank you and keep up the good work.

5History can be fun!  Aug 20, 2008
By Shelley MacFiddler
The story centers on a scrappy and fun squirrel named Elbridge during the Revolutionary War. Children will enjoy the colorful pages and Elbridge's exploits as they also learn American history.

Through Elbridge's harrowing plight, he and his friends learn the value of freedom, and they bravely decide to join the patriots in their fight for independence.

A fun story, a history lesson, and a wonderful message all in one book!

5Wonderful!  May 18, 2008
By Marianne!
My son enjoyed this book very much and I did also! I really liked the mixture of history, Elbridge and his friend's sense of responsibility, and the beautiful artwork. It was a good lesson in freedom. Finishing what you started. And caring about others. Smaller children were drawn to the vibrant colors that are on each page. The book was a perfect blend. A definite keeper and will be re-read many times.
Well done!
