Compasspoints UP for your career! Jul 25, 2011
By Orville Crain Wow, I am very impressed from an employer's perspective. If my next job applicant has read and understands this book - they've got a job! Ms. Twa deals with emotional roadblocks and personality style as underlying principles. Then goes on to tell the job seeker what it really takes to get a job. Well written, easy to understand, and concise at only eighty pages. Nice job, a really first class work! Orville Crain, co owner Klever Innovations, Muskegon, MI.

Bravo!!! Great Job Seekers Resource. Jan 03, 2011
By Carl V Harbortown Group Recruiting A terrific road map for in-transition job seekers, The Compass Kit Career Planning Guide, is a must read for anyone - entry level to an executive - seeking a new opportunity. Ms. Twa has included all the key elements to assist individuals through what has become a daunting task, finding a new job.
From its opening section discussing "Emotional Roadblocks" to the book's "Tips and Strategies," each section provides building blocks to finding that next position. Especially thought provoking sections discuss resume writing, references, and cover letters. Not to be overlooked either, are the sections covering "Networking and Interviewing."
As an Executive Recruiter, I regularly recommend this book to my candidates as an excellent reference during their job search.
I would have never got the interview had it not been for the Compass Kit. Mar 09, 2010
By R. Twa Submitted By JJU I had been unemployed for almost a year and an half do to down sizing. I have almost 20 years experience in both Sales and Management. I have a double major Business and Computer Information Systems. I had been sending out ten to twenty cover letters and resumes a week. I would be lucky to get two interviews a month. After I started using the Compass Kit, I over hauled my resume. Put key and buzz words in my cover letters. I changed my approach to finding a job. After about three weeks of changing my approach I was interviewing two to four times a week. It took me about six months to finally land the job but I do know I would have never got the interview had it not been for the Compass Kit.
Thank You Bobbie!!

By LP As an HR professional, I would like every job candidate to have thought through the job search process as well as this author has. This guide not only lays out the do's and don'ts, but it provides the "process" candidates should go through to find a position that fits them, not just a paycheck. By working through this guide the job seeker learns the "up-front" work that needs to take place even before the resume is written, before the interview gets scheduled and before the offer gets accepted. The job search checklist and logs keep you organized while the tip sheets prepare you for every step of the search. As a career coach, this author provided me with valuable insight and guidance which I feel contributed directly to my securing a new position within mere weeks!
