The Conversion of the Church

Sam Shoemaker a pioneer in both the Oxford group movement and AA. presents in his book "The conversion Of The Chruch" How the Church needs to operate like a fellowship and that in reality the Fellowship is the Church. Sam mentions in his Forward that the original church was often called the fellowship. AA is often refered to as the Fellowship. Sam devotes an entire Chapter to the genius of fellowship. There he emphasises the Importance of fellowship in The Chruch. "When the Church is alive the desire for fellowship is alive. Sam gives his definition of real fellowship. "the core and genius of real fellowship as i see it, is the power to live and work with people upon the basis of absolute love and honesty"

5Fellowship and Christianity goes together  Mar 04, 2011
By Gunasingh "Olivia"
Without a brotherly, sisterly fellowship a true genuine christian cannot live. A christian always want to be fellowship with GOD first and then with his or her fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Where could else a christian can be? Author walked and showed us the path how a fellowship in Jesus Christ can change lives of people in these modern days. All technology took us so far from God, so we need someone to tell us to spend time with GOD and get closer to him through fellowship.

all of us trying to be genius in some thing in our life. but the author of the book given an opportunity to become genius in christian fellowship one another. he used simple sentences, simple words, simple pen style and simple approach about fellowship. he aimed at different people who wants to know what a fellowship can do in their lives which is ignored by many of us every day. people want to be left alone isolated, but author proved that will not take us anywhere close to God.

5Fellowship can change lives  Mar 03, 2011

Christian faith is all about fellowship. You fellowship with God which will make you fellowship with others in a friendly way. Fellowship really changes everything. Author beautifully showed why fellowship is so important in our lives and how it can strengthen our relationship with God. It is really to see lot of examples in which author made a good point about fellowship. No one get ever tired of knowing these facts, so much in it in this little book.

4A Good Christian Book  Feb 05, 2011
By MsJuliaT
As a child, I was raised by parents who were definitely preachers of the ways of "fellowship" and how important it is in religious communities. This book follows the kind of lines that my parents tried to teach my brothers and me. It focuses on bringing Christ's values to religions of today and how much they could benefit by understanding how important strong fellowship is. I was very appreciative of the note pages. That is always an interesting concept and as a person that, again taught by my parents, writes down ideas as I read, this was very cool. I liked this book and I believe others interested in learning and understanding the benefits of fellowship.

5A book to make you think  Feb 01, 2011
By Angel
In his book "The Conversion of the Church: The Genius of Fellowship" by Rev. Samuel M. Shoemaker, the author takes a deep look at the way Christian churches need to change in order to serve the people as they were intended to do. He believes they need to become more Christ like by focusing more on fellowship and the needs of the congregation. Reading this book, I took advantage of the pages that are included for journaling about what I read and found myself thinking about the church I attend and my feelings about it.
