5The Dance  Jun 05, 2005
This young author shows real potential. First she uses intrigue to lure us into joining her with words such as "cordially invite you to a dance across time" in Raise Your Glass, the first poem. In this poem she carefully hints that what is come may be more than just the "normal" or the "ordinarily seen".
As we "raise our glass" to the night, we are also raising our glass to perhaps "life journey" as well.
The entire first section entitled The Dance gives us insight into some of the longing each of us feels as we seek to find love, and remember loves of the past. This poet then leads us onto The Path in the second group of poems. In this section we learn of a well-laid out path that each of us follow in our search for first a God, then a meaning to our personal existence, and finally to Self-realization. We learn that it is through "Charming blunders and beautiful mistakes" that "you become who you are, by the choices you make." "The Soul" opens our eyes to the real purpose of life and leads us forward with truths and new insights into hope. She deals with God, Heaven, and Soul in a fresh, clean and truly opens the way, reflects love and offends none. Through this book we are given a opportunity to view the opinions of a young artist as she reveals her fears, pain, hopes, and dreams. As we read the poems I am certain that each of us will be able to empathize and compare with our own emotions. This book is not only about the pains and joys of life, it is about paying tribute to those she has loved, and hero's she has looked to. She gives much to the reader and challenges us to look beyond the ordinary and see the great potential of life.
