I Love This Series Jul 03, 2009
By Donna Miller I was so excited when this book became available. I was upset when Ms. Riccio had trouble getting a publisher. I was also very confused, since this is my favorite series. But, this book was worth the wait. I devoured it immediately. All my favorite characters are back and it's such fun to see how they are evolving, although there were tears, too. The magic in this series is totally believable for me. The friendships and sense of family, particularly those special people encountered who become family as we go through life, make it so much more than just a mystery series. The series honors and strengthens the divine feminine but it is equally obvious the author likes and respects males. I also love the way animals are so delightfully portrayed. Wicca is presented in such a positive light, but all religions are honored. I think Ms. Riccio must be a very nice woman indeed to have created such a lively, warm and lovable group of characters. I can't wait for fall and the next book. Please, keep this series coming for a very long time.

Magickal Jul 22, 2009
By haunted one Once again Cass Shipton and her circle of friends have warmed my inner soul. These woman have become a positive source of energy in such a negative world. I'm more than Pleased that Dolores Riccio has been able to extend her knowledge and love the of wiccan practice, yet show respect to others too. My heart dropped when she was having a problem with a publisher, but blessings be someone was smart enough to pick up this much loved series. I'm eager and awaiting the next adventure of Cass, her friends and there very sexy other halves. Thank You Dolores for pushing to continue this series and may the Goddess Bless you with more to come~

Love it! Love it! Love it! Jul 26, 2009
By Sandy S. YES! YES! YES! The ladies are finally back! (and I didn't notice that many typos!) I believe this is Mrs. Riccio's best Circle book yet. She has 2 nasty villains for the ladies to catch, and as I am first of all a mystery lover, the story moves forward beautifully. The characters move forward in their lives with some changes being happy and others quite sad. The ladies, particularly Cass and Fiona, continue to grow in their powers. Some people may reject this book based on the circles practice of Wicca. I am a Christian and I still love these books. These are beautiful, strong, intelligent women who use talents they have been given to help their circle as well as others. They love and support each other thru good times and bad. I would love to have a group of friends as intelligent and caring as these women. Pretty please, could Fiona come and live next door to me?! :)! She is such an incredible character! Read this book and enjoy, then please come back and write a review so others can discover these beautiful stories. Ready for number 6, please!

A Great Disapointment Jan 04, 2010

I was so excited that Dolores had finally found a new publisher and her Circle series was at long last going to continue. By the first chapter I could tell that she had made major changes. The one and only good change was her no longer repeating the details of the background story of each character in the book. The ladies in these books have become like my friends over the years and I felt they were destroyed in this part of the series. Death to animals, death to main characters, near betrayal of relationships, rape of my friends? No thank you. I have read and reread with pleasure each of the previous books, but not this one. It will either sit on my shelf and collect dust or go to the library donation box. I am not sure if I will even be buying the next in her series.

Badly in need of editing! Dec 23, 2010
By J. Terry I have loved the previous books in this series and would have given them 4 or 5 stars. Usually, as soon as I get my hands on one, I will devour it in a few sittings. Had trouble getting into this one at first, in spite of the exciting beginning. Partly because of all the glaring grammatical and syntax errors.
Some chapters seemed to have an error in every paragraph. Words would be repeated such as "was was". Or placed in the wrong position, such as before another word when they should have been after it. Or else didn't make any sense in the context. I swear there was one word that was made up. Even my computer software at home catches mistakes like this!
In one scene, Cass is astral projecting and describing what she sees, in the first person style the author uses. Suddenly she is "Cass", instead of "I". Very jarring. Also, I found this book too dark, even more so than the first book, which dealt with the death of a child. I read these books for light-hearted escape, but this was not that. Also, some conversations and situations do not ring true, not in the way real people would speak and act. And these books are not cheap! Even used ones go for at least $15 on Amazon.
I might have given this book only 2 stars, but there are a couple of savers. In the back of the book is a glossary of sorts which explains who all the continuing characters are, and how they relate to the story. Very clever, as the author doesn't continously repeat every character's backstory as she usually does. (Major improvement!) I'm sure many people will find this feature helpful. After that is a recipe for a banana bread Cass bakes at one point of the story. I tore the recipe out before passing the book along. Sounds incredibly yummy, and I can't wait to make it!
Hope the next book is better. Perhaps the author should find yet another publisher with competent proof-readers.
