Excellent and enjoyable read Aug 25, 2006

I must agree with the other reviews. This books is captivating and addictive. The writing is smooth and easy to follow, the characters become friends, and your really want to discover what they will do in particular situations. I would highly recommend this to anybody who enjoys a good fantasy read, and its completely appropriate for different age groups. The books is not perfect, however the influences are from the classics in the genre that made me love this type of book, and this has plenty of the plot meanderings that make it a great book. I highly recommend it.

Amazing book...you will fall in love with the characters I guarantee it!! The story is solid and each page leaves you wanting more...I was actually sad when I finished it because there was no more to read! But then I found out the good news...Its a TRILOGY!!! The other books are fantastic as well...I would recommend them all to anyone who enjoys authors such as Tolkien!

For anyone who enjoys fantasy fiction, this is a must read. I just fell in love with the characters. It starts out and you think it's gonna be your typical quest story, but all of a suddne the author throws in a whole bunch of unexpected twists... I don't want to ruin it for anyone, so that's all I'll say... but really, if you like fantasy or adventure stories at all, I'd recommend reading this.

I read this book in 5 days. I could not set it down. The characters come to life on every page, and I wish there was more!
For those of us who love fantasty, anything to do with dragons, middle age lifestyle, swords, heroism, all that good stuff... This book is outstanding.
I cannot wait to read more from this author, her characters are quite compelling.

I began this book in the spring and couldn't put it down. The characters and plot lines are very interesting with intriguing twists and surprises. I was amazed at the final chapters and couldn't wait to read more. Fortunately, I was given the second book in the series soon after. I have just finished that as well...again...couldn't put it down. I looked forward to reading it often to find out what was going to happen. I highly recommend this wonderful series. I look forward to reading the next one this fall. Very well done with some brilliant passages!
