The Earth Mosaic

After her mentor is killed in a suicide bombing in Jerusalem, Samatha Driggs, a New York Times science editor, embarks on an odyssey to Thailand to capture the scientific story he had begun to write. What Samatha discovers is much more complicated and critical to the Earth's future than a simple science story for a newspaper. She finds herself at the nucleus of our time-- and recognizes her role in the reconciliation of our society. Unfortunately, the role she discovers for herself is a not a shared vision-- quickly learning that there are forces in the world that are neither ready for her calling as a scientific oracle nor willing to receive the message she has been tasked to deliver. An unlikely conspiracy is revealed to Samantha and her companions-- placing their lives in danger and putting on world on notice.

5Intriguing  May 16, 2009
By Casey Johnson "Elementary Teacher"
This is a well written book. While the plot is not always fast paced, it incorporates so many different things, and brings them all together into an excellent story. With topics ranging from world events to spiritual enlightenment, most readers would enjoy this. The mix of science and religion is fascinating, and something I've always been interested in.

5Excellent Book  Sep 29, 2009
By Jamie Grace "jggrace - avid reader"
This was a very intriguing book. The different topics covered by the author is immense. There are so many topics of concern in the world today and he is gives a veiw point on many of them. I enjoyed the mixture of religion and science and how they are able to be combined for us to have a better knowledge of who we are and where we are going. It definitely needs a sequel. Great read, Mike!

4The Earth Mosaic  Sep 25, 2009
By Donna T. Martin
This is not what I typically pick up for reading pleasure, so I was really surprised to actually positively enjoy this book. I like light reading (I am too lazy to want to make the effort to "think" by the time I have a quiet moment.) Anyway, I found his insight and character development great. It was not fast paced as other reviewers point out, but I was not looking for that when I picked it up to read. I liked the fact that I could almost feel like I BELIEVED this story line. (Living very close to the locations in NC mentioned in his book probably also helped make it feel so real.) He really made me feel for the main character and I was rooting for her early on in the book; and she didn't disappoint me by the end. I liked and did NOT expect the religious twists and turns this book took me on. I dislike the "faith by fear" concept so popular here in the south and he hit some good points about how religion can be so divisive but offered hope that "people" can really turn it around someday and help make our world come together. Great job for a first time author! I hate reading books that need sequels! Now I have to wait!

5Love this!  Jul 16, 2009

Great book! It kept getting better and better until the end. If you like philosophical thrillers, you will enjoy this! A cross between the Da Vinci Code and Atlas Shrugged. I highly recommend it...very engaging for the time in which we live.
