A very good read Jun 30, 2008
By G. Jackson It's a shame through all the noise of mainstream publishers books like this don't get the exposer they deserve. I bought from Glenda at DragonCon last year and finally got around to reading it. I wish I had read it sooner.
Though it has a religious and spiritual theme to it, that shouldn't deter anyone from reading this wonderful story. Briefly, Daylan is the human twin brother of the reptilian emperor Moltor and they share the same soul. Daylan is the Deliverer (think Moses/Jesus) and sets out to gather the 7 keys to open the gates of Elysium and issue in a new world. Each key is held by someone who is the only one who can use it so his inner circle consist of people such as an albino female, a blind man, and a child with no legs. Moltor is out to stop them but he can't kill Daylan.
It is well written, well paced and an interesting story. I would have liked to have seen a bit more at the end but the conclusion was none-the-less still quite satisfying and well done. It's not too heavy or too light, something I would definitely have with me on the beach, an airplane, or on my summer reading list. Due to the spiritual nature of the book I will say this (only because other reviews of similar nature often site believe): If you're an atheist you may not care much for this novel due to its spiritual theme but people who panned The Golden Compass because of its atheist theme will be well served by this fine novel.
Either way though, you owe it to yourself to get beyond the noise of the mainstream and pick up this book. Just as independent films and music have their gems, so too does independent writing. This is one of them!

The Best Darn Sci-Fi Book to hit the shelves in years!!!!!!! Aug 29, 2003
This is the best Sci-fi book the come down the pike in recent years. It was exciting, and spell binding at the same time. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and i could not put it down. I love the way the characters were developed and the positive way that there handicaps ware used. They were heros because of the handicaps and not viewed as a burden. They display honor and courage, and I love the fight and strugle of good vs evil and the final out come of the story, I would recommend the this book be read by all young and old alike. This is a must read!!!!
