The End of eBay: The Rise and Fall of eBay's Biggest Powerseller

„We used to trash our old stuff, now we have eBay“ Michael Marcovici had to decide what to do with the rest of the merchandise from his old company. 5Excellent and Funny Wow !!!  Jan 21, 2009

I read thru this book in one evening, this is an amazing book, Michael made it to the biggest Powerseller on Ebay within 2 years, then 2 years later bankrupted. This truly is a wild story and maybe, at least among business books, the funiest I know. The book is great for everyone who makes or intends to make business on ebay but also for all others interested in biographies of interesting people.

5Amazing Story!  Oct 19, 2010
By Dekkard
Since I sold lots of stuff on eBay, I thought I give this book a try. It is quite amazing I have to say! Having more than 60 Poeple working for you within 2 years, only by selling stuff over eBay is something that not many people can achieve. The writer of the book, Michael Marcovici, is an entrepreneur that with his creativity reminded my a little bit of Richard Branson - eventhough he failed in the end. But he also explained many flaws in the eBay System that I knew of too.
The Book contains many stories that he experienced in the 5 years he ran the business. Things he experienced while searching for new goods on fares in China and Hong Kong, how he had to bribe someone in the ministry of transport in Paris in order to sell his motorcycle there or funny misunderstanding while dealing with china. But these are some examples of topics written in the book. The good thing was, that you can just open the book and start to read a chapter, since all topics are separately written.
The book starts with earlier projects by Michael - all of them quite interesting and creative - then goes on to how the company qentis started to make millions and how and why the problems got more and more until the company surprisingly went into chapter 11, just because one of many financiers jumped off, causing a chain reaction that even affected the ebay Stock by 4 % after it hit the news in Europe. Qentis was the biggest eBay Powerseller back then, and from one day to the other the employees where told the company is broke.
The last third of the book are tricks within the ebay System and everything about the whole business: how you can hack other peoples accounts (since that happened to them very often, due to the vulnerable eBay system), how to buy wholesale in china and start your own OEM brand, everything about shipping containers from far east, shipping goods to customers and so on. Too many things to write in one review!

By Cheong Chee Choong
I had waited for more than 4 months and yet no sign of the item.
everytime i contacted the customer service, he just keep asking me wait for another 1 month.
I had enough of Amazon.
It is worst than any new ebay seller out there.
