While on a trip to a nearby department store, the author got the idea for this story by watching the scene of his very young daughter choose a toy bunny from a box full of bunnies. The choice of a plain bunny over fancy bunnies gave him the idea of writing the tale from the viewpoint of the toy as if even the most plain of bunnies deserves a loving home.

I wasn't prepared for the beauty of this book. The writing reminded me of
Alice in Wonderland, it was easy to understand,but charming --as if narrated by a precocious child.
The Illustrations were so beautiful, they filled my heart. I can anticipate looking at this book again and again and again. I love The Blue Bunny so much!!!
This is the book to read to your child to let them know the world really is a wonderful place to be.

Wave's children's books are one of a kind!! ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! The illustrations are colorful and the stories are sweet and heartfelt!! A definite must for any child. These books are keepsake material to pass down from generation to generation!!
