The First Lamp -- A Beautiful and Uplifting Story Mar 26, 2009
By Julie Herron Carson "The First Lamp" is an engaging and inspiring story, told with warmth and humor by first-time novelist Cathleen Hulbert. Spanning various geographic locations and times ranging from modern-day New York City to ancient Hawaii, Hulbert skillfully weaves together the lives and journeys of her characters as they struggle with such universal issues as love, forgiveness, redemption and faith. By examining humanity's physical and spiritual natures, "The First Lamp" reaffirms the deep truths of who we are, why we are here and what we must do to care for our world and each other.

NOT TO BE MISSED May 23, 2010

"Eliza White Buffalo"
I was mesmerized by this story. Not only was it filled from cover to cover with depths of spiritual knowledge and wisdom, but also with outstanding beauty and romance. The author takes the reader into a journey of healing and spiritual enlightenment towards an inner place of wholeness, of deep peace. Kalah and Sarah, two brave spiritual warriors, cross physical barriers to travel through time and space in order to fulfil their soul's purpose on Earth. Both women reflect to us our own individual journeys. They show us what treasures are there within us, within each and every one of us - treasures beyond our wildest dreams. All we have to do to reveal these treasures is to make a simple choice to change, heal, and reveal. Hulbert shows us that this is our birthright - it is who we are, and once we make that first choice nothing can stopper each joy-filled revelation. The First Lamp is easy to read and packed full of page-turning emotion that will have you marvelling at its beauty, crying tears of release, and rejoicing in heights of enlightenment. Once you read this story you will want to sing its praises from the rafters. This is NOT TO BE MISSED.....Eliza White Buffalo, author of The Two Roads Trilogy, with Nicholas Black Elk.
