`What can I use as a reminder to think positively first thing in the morning?' Nov 03, 2009
By J. Cameron-Smith
"Expect the Unexpected"
Increased self-awareness can result in personal growth as a consequence of positive change. Many of us strive to improve our relationships or to improve the way in which we handle certain situations. In this book, Mr Armstrong has compiled a number of thoughts and reflections to assist on this journey.
Nine different subject headings (including Thoughts, Feelings, Relationships, and Power) address different aspects of life and relationships. This is a book to be savoured, not devoured. Each thought and its corresponding reflection is a potential springboard for change - if desired. I like this book: I am working at incorporating some of the reflections into my thinking each day. The possibilities are energising.

Total Inspiration Sep 24, 2009
By B. Davis
"crazy about books"
I am completely delighted with this book of inspiration. Each page provides the reader with an insightful and life changing thought, with a reflection after each. It's an easy to read book which doesn't take a lot of time out of busy lives. I read one or two pages every day and try to apply what I've read to my life. Chapters include: Thoughts; Feelings; Relationships; Power; Living Ideas; Character; Spirit; and much more. It is the perfect book for anyone who is looking for the motivation to improve their life.
A Perfect Way To Bring The Day Nov 01, 2009
By C. A. Webb
"Conversations Book Club"
Ever wondered what would happen if we examined a situation or something we were going to say before it actually happened? Armstrong's book THE FIRST THIRTY SECONDS gives us something to chew on as we begin our day and even more to meditate on after the day has begun. This book is perfect for those who are trying to learn more about themselves and better the person they come in contact with in the mirror each day.
It's true we only get one chance to make a first impression, but if we are wise we will take advantage of the opportunities to improve on that impression with every change we get.
Beautifully written Oct 03, 2009
By L. Brandau Simple, beautiful, concise, thoughtful, and meaningful are all words to describe The First Thirty Seconds. At each turn of the page the reader is presented with a thoughtful sentence or paragraph of various subjects and then a reflection on the opposite page. All of the topics are presented to help the reader focus on positive thoughts and behaviors.
The book is presented in the style of a devotional with each double page to be read individually so that there is an opportunity to ponder and apply to the reader's life. The topics covered are all of the things we encounter in our everyday lives and the feelings and thoughts that can hinder us if we let them. What a wonderful way to start the day by reading, contemplating, and applying the thoughts presented! Then to be able to use what you learn to make choices through the day that reflect a righteousness of character and goodness.
I would recommend this book for anyone who would like to start their day in a positive manner. The book has one of the most beautiful covers I have ever seen, and with each page decoratively framed, I would especially recommend the book as a gift.
Good Morning Sep 28, 2009

We have known Steve and Jan for many years now and we knew that Steve's book would be good. It's on our night table and each morning, after a kiss, we open to yesterday's page, re-read it and turn the page for a new day and a new inspiration. So far our favorite is pages 207-208. Our thanks and congratulations for the Armstrong Family.
