 The Five Secrets of Oz Nov 15, 2009
I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading The Five Secrets of Oz. I don't generally read self-help type books. I have to say that this book really inspired me. The book introduces you to a number of people with problems - drug addiction, obesity, anger management, etc.
By chance, they meet "Oz", an older man who appears rather down on his luck. As he speaks to each person, he introduces them to the five secrets that will allow them to change and make their lives what they want them to be. They each apply the secrets to their own lives to figure out how to change.
I really enjoyed this book because it doesn't read like a lecture. It has no bulletted lists of what you need to do. There are no pills or magic ways of thinking. No tells you about what you have to do while you're reading.
The Five Secrets of Oz is written like a story and I could identify with several of the characters. Not only that, I saw similarities between some of the characters and people I knew.
The author has a fun way of writing that really gets you into reading the book. I don't think there are many people that won't identify with at least one of the main characters. This book truly has the power to transform your life.

Although I lead a fulfilling life, there are times when I have felt that I'm too busy taking care of others and not taking the time to reflect on my own activities. The title is intriguing, and I found myself excited with every page I turned. We tend to get into repetitive cycles and find ourselves in ruts. What does one do about it and make a difference at the same time? Oz's five secrets are so simple, and Steve has a fun and entertaining way showing us how they work. There are several real life stories about people who have made some bad decisions that took them down the path to despair. They all meet Oz and are eager to make positive changes by using his five secrets. I found myself using the secrets from the very first chapter and was thrilled that he included the secrets diary too. The secrets have made a difference in my business and personal life. I decided to buy the book for our teenage boys, because I believe that his message is so powerful, and that they can use these valuable tools in their adult lives. They are both enjoying the stories and are instinctively making better choices. The Five Secrets from Oz provides insight into how we can make positive changes, find our own inner light (direction) and personal happiness. "A must buy." This book takes you past personal development into a newer, better, fresher, life-changing stage. No other book has taken the genre of self improvement to this level and expressed the fundamentals in such a provacative and powerful way. These secrets are utilized to alter the lives of several characters in the book. Each of which represent a different population segment in our world today. The author takes you through this journey using humor, action, real-life drama, and some philosophy to transform the way you view the basic principles and ideals of the human element. "Intriguing, powerful straight-talk, in a unique package provides one heck of a ride for the audience."
