A great way to start 2009!! Jan 23, 2009
By David Hunter You know how you always hear someone say " that book changed my life" and you're so jealous because you wish it had had that impact on you? Well, this one did! It was recommended by a friend who said -" This is the book to read this year!" She was so right. This is THE book for today- no matter what circumstance you find yourself in, this book will make a major difference. It's funny, uplifting , very real and offers different ways of thinking that are very very smart. Thanks Gene- 2009 is going to be MY year for sure- I've caught Follow-Through!

Every now and then you come across a book that makes you feel as if the author understands you perfectly. This is such a book. In every "Yes, but" chapter , I heard myself. By the end of every chapter, I knew exactly what I needed to do to get past that "yes but." The author shares the excellent advice of those who, like me, have wanted to pursue an idea, but have been blocked by all kinds of real-life issues and doubts. The value of this advice is its honestly and its practicality. This book gives you realistic responses to realistic problems. And it's a truly enjoyable read. Gene Hayden seems immensely likeable. As a matter of fact, she's someone you'd like to sit next to in a plane, tell her your secret ambition, and you know you'd have reason to believe her when she tells you that you can make it happen.
I followed through with my dream, thanks to this book! May 29, 2011
By Tara Benwell This book jumped out at me in our local library. This has happened a few times in my life. When it happens I always know it's a book I need to read. I was contemplating self-publishing a novel that I had worked on for 10 years. My agent wanted me to keep waiting. She said a literary press would eventually take it on. It had been a few years and I was tired of telling people that they'd be able to read my book soon. After I read this book, I decided to hire my own editor and self-publish via CreateSpace. Since then I've also published "The Proper Order of Things" for Kindle too. I'm having conversations with real humans who have read and enjoyed my book, and now I'm working on my second book (rather than waiting). I wrote to the author after reading her book and she encouraged me to follow through with my decision. I really appreciated this extra boost. Thanks Gene Hayden! I hope every creative person reads your book.
