The Garden of Being

We are like trees that can dance! As a human being, we are surrounded by a garden of life. This is an emotional story about surviving cancer and belief in the personal power we have in our own healing. Its pages hold rainbows of love and sunbeams of laughter that can follow behind a devastating storm of terror and tears. The story theme is how our bodies and minds are like gardens. Told in two voices by the patient (daughter) and her mother. Gardeners and non-gardeners alike, along with people whose lives are interrupted by cancer or other life-threatening disease, will find within these pages inspiration and lessons of surviving well under the cloud of what all human beings are issued at birth, a death sentence; and will indeed realize how life itself is The Garden of Being.

5An Awesome Read  Nov 03, 2007
This was a very, very good book. It should be a 'must read' for anyone with The Big C or any other devasting event in their life, such as divorce, paralysis, etc. The thoughts can be used for many issues. The extremely positive attitude shown by Denise and her 'garden-mates' sets an example of the way to go through the journey of life. You can either choose to enjoy every little bit or be miserable. The journey is the same, but much more fun if you decide to have a positive attitude. Denise and her mother are an example of an extremely wonderful success story that is an inspiration to us all. I commend Denise for 'taking lemons and making lemonade" and then sharing the recipe with us.

5Blossom Like A Flower  Sep 12, 2007

5Great for all Mothers and Daughters to read  Jul 30, 2007
What a wonderful Job on this book. My daughter and I sat together and read the book first thing when it came in the mail. We both cried at the beginning and shared happier moments throughout. What a blessing to read and share this experience with my Daughter for we also have a close Aunt with Breast Cancer and My own Sister who has had the C word and has been Cancer free now for 3 years. We want to read more about Dede's survival with Cancer. Keep up the Great work. We love you.

5Great uplifting read  Jul 30, 2007
The book is well written and inspirational to anyone suffering from a terrible disease--in this case breast cancer. Writer shows how she got through the pain of diagnosis and treatment and came to view life in a different/better light. A good message for all of us--sick or healthy.
