i read this entire book on a flight Dallas to New York. I wasn't even mad about the four hour snow layover, the time flew by as the author held me in suspense as to what would happen next. too bad it's so short. it's the second book i've read from this author...please write more books Mr. Naylor

By a m j I missed my connecting flight on a trip to visit relatives. It was a good thing for me [and the unnamed airlines] that I had a Rick Naylor novel in my carry-on. Because I escaped into the world of "The Gas Attendant". The Gas Attendant is funny, suspenseful and at times takes your breath away. I lost track of time and it was four hours later when they started announcements to board the connecting flight. I could hardly wait to get to my seat and continue reading the book. But, I have to attempt I felt sorry for the other passengers who were angry and frustrated. If only they had a Rick Naylor novel.
Needless to say, I contently took my seat and I finished "The Gas Attendant" as the plane landed at the destination city... wanting to see the next Rick Naylor novel. I anxiously look forward to what happens next... hope it is Part II of "The Gas Attendant"

Great book - unique story! I really enjoyed reading it from the very first page. It has all the right ingredients for excellent mystery-suspense-drama entertainment. I can't wait for more from this author! Bravo!
There are rumours of strange things happening at an old gas station on the eastside of New York. The unsuccessful artist Richard gets caught in the middle after the owner, Mr. Sanford, experiences a terrible car accident. Also a detective gets involved by investigating old murder cases. As the owner's condition deteriorates, Rich tries to get a hold of Sanford's family. By doing so, things turn out even more mysterious. Together with the arcane mechanic Teresa, Rich tries to keep up with the gas station and travels back in time, where even harmless little monkeys turn violent against him...
