The Glass Table

Eco-fantasy action is the name of the game in The Glass Table by new author Leigh K Cunningham. As compelling as it is sublime, this affable thriller written for young readers is a disquiet mystery with an important and timely lesson in tolerance. When twelve children disappear while swimming at Lake Como during the summer holidays, the police chief is baffled, unconvinced that a resident witch, displeased with the annual onslaught of polluting holidaymakers, is to blame. She casts a spell, which divides her young captors into either wood spirits or river spirits. The river spirits can escape the spell and return home as children, but only with dire consequences for the wood spirits. A manual sets out the rules they must follow. They learn that it is only through trust, camaraderie, and teamwork do they have a chance to survive, but when a wood spirit named Faith turns into bubbles, all bets are off, even though a greater threat emerges on the banks of the river Kai.

5A great read for kids  Nov 30, 2009
By Kevin C. Webb "Kev"
I purchased this book a couple of weeks back from Amazon. I'm a keen follower of twitter and I saw Leigh K Cunningham and started to follow her. I became intrigued with her story and decided to read it for my self. Today's youth are extremely savvy and expect to be treated as such, Leigh K Cunningham does just that.

Her characters are all believable, children should have no trouble relating to them at all. as for the story it moves along nicely while cementing images into the brain for future use. I think the kids of today will love this story because it is so relevant with what's happening now in our world. All kids these days have knowledge about global warming and protecting our environment. So I'm sure there's plenty of room in their hearts for the Glass Table. Well done Leigh K Cunningham.
