Goopy will visit our house each Halloween! Oct 07, 2009
I recently bought Goopy Ghost for my seven-month-old baby for her first Halloween. Although she is too young to sit still for most books, she really took to Goopy. The illustrations are vibrant, and the story is rhythmic enough to catch her attention (and that's hard to do with a seven-month-old!).
I also enjoyed the book, which is not always the case with some children's stories I read that seem pointless and end abruptly. The adventures of Goopy Ghost (stealing candy, trying to put out the "fire" in his house) are entertaining and original enough for both children and adults to enjoy it.
The soft cover and texture of the book is also wonderful for my little one to bop it around without hurting herself, which she did with much delight immediately after her first reading.
Goopy will be a friend in our household for many years to come!

I have just purchased Goopy Ghost. I am patiently waiting to read this story with my own children (5 & 6) as well as to my preschool classroom. The trailer was an instant attention graber. Can't wait to get it.

"The Goopy Ghost of Halloween" will charm Halloween lovers both young and old alike. Goopy is not your average ghost; he's fresh and creative.
This book can easily become a traditional "must read" story on Halloween Eve.
We normally cook the seeds from the pumpkins we carve. This year, we will just be drawing the faces on the pumpkins and leaving Goopy's house intact!
I recommend buying several copies to give out as an extra special treat to the little ghosts that visit your home this year.
