Wonderful book for a great cause! Aug 14, 2009
By Cie The Great Summer of My Life by Albert Mora is a work of love. It's a book older children are certain to enjoy. Written from a youngster's perspective, it will take you back to a simpler time where the quest for coolness was truly an adventure. I highly recommend for ages 8-14.

By Sylvia Because this book is so vividly written and so accurately describes Albert's "Greatest Summer...", I had to put it down. I'm one of the "twins" and growing up a Mexican-American "girl" in the same household as Albert was, shall I say, challenging? If I were to write a loose autobiography of the same home, parents, summer...from my point of view, it might be titled; "The Greatest Summer of My Brothere Albert's Life". lol Any interest?
The Greatest Summer makes for great reading! Feb 08, 2010
By M. Terrill Albert Mora's zest for life and baseball is infectious, and it shows in his writing. "The Greatest Summer of My Life" beautifully captures those enchanting summers of long ago when baseball ruled the world.
Way to go Albert...you really knocked this one out of the park!
Quick and fun read... Jan 27, 2010
By E. Dennis I found this book very fun to read because it brings back beautiful vivid memories of my childhood visits to Mexico. It has a cultural richness and accuracy that you don't usually find in stories that involve Mexican-American literature. My 10 year old son couldn't put it down!
